Profile of Lawyer

In 1998 JUDr. Markéta Schönbornová had completed her grammar school studies by international secondary school-leaving examination at a high school in California (the USA).

Within 2005 till 2006 after the graduation from the Legal Faculty she had worked for the Industrial Property Office of the Czech Republic at the legal department as a legislative lawyer. She had participated in the creation of the Czech legislation in the area of industrial property acts. She had also prepared opinions to actions concerting industrial rights. Further, she had represented the IPO in both administrative and legal proceedings. Last but not least she had participated in the preparation of legal documents for the IPO management.

Within 2006 till 2009 she had been the head of international trademark department of the IPO. Her tasks fallen within her authority had been following: to have ensured the functioning of a department with 11 officers, to have provided the legal consultations and checking of filings of international trademarks within her authority, to have handled the international correspondence, to have actively cooperated with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and with the EU Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), to have given presentation or to have represented the IPO in the media. Furthermore, she had particularly managed issues concerning geographical indications and appellations of origin in a successful way and registered these Czech requests for the European Union territory before the European Commission.

In 1999 she had passed the state exam in English, in 2004 the B2 level exam in German of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, and in 2008 the A1 level exam in French DELF/DALF. Within 2005 till 2007 she had completed the IPO Industrial Property Training Institute and in 2007 passed attorney examination concerning trademarks.

During her practice at the IPO JUDr. Markéta Schönbornová had completed many national or international workshops and trainings, e.g. the workshop on Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement hold by the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic, the French seminar concerning French geographical indications and appellations of origin specialized on local issues organized by Agrideou or summer academy of Intellectual Property in the US organized by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Within 2009 till 2012 she played an active role in advocacy. She is experienced by the general bar practice for increasing her qualification in the representation before courts and other administrative bodies for the future needs of clients.

On 1 November 2012 she established the legal office.
